Christies.....An Luxurious Italian Brand With a World Class Reputation
Christies was started in 1980 in Quistello in the province of Mantua, Italy. The lingerie brand positioned itself from the very beginning as appealing to the upper end of the market: boutiques and exclusive specialty shops.
The stylistic aspect of the collections is given a top priority, with great attention devoted to the fashion content of the various items, the selection of the most luxurious and innovative fabrics – only Italian fabrics, French laces and Swiss embroideries are normally used – and fine craftsmanship in the finishing and detail work.
The woman who inspires the Christies collections is an urban, sophisticated individual with tastes that have evolved over the years in harmony with the collections.
Looking at the collection below, you can feel the sophisticationand glamour in each of their pieces. Each one seems right out of a glizty French burlesque show. Christies is famous for the absolute attention to detail put into each one of their pieces.
I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I did............
Maison Close......Beautiful and Chic Lingerie from Paris
Maison Close, the lingerie label that hit The Lingerie Post with a huge splash last september is back with two absolutely breathtaking new collections that were first introduced to the lingerie world at the Salon de la Lingerie in Paris earlier this year. The two collections are both absolutely amazing – even though they sort of contradict each other. Villa Caprice is extremely extravagant and looks very geometrical, whereas Bel-Ami is much more intimate, a beautiful and seductive retro collection.......
Villa Caprice
Dynamic, modern and beautiful. The Villa Caprice collection, like passion itself, has no time for moderation. Maison Close shows this with beautiful accerssories (belt, hold-ups and bodices) along with pulse-increasing undergarments to dress a bare arm, wrap around the waist or enhance the curve of a heel. To give free rein to your fancy and to ensure a variety of pleasures, the collection has been designed so that the various items (shorty, G-sting, suspenders, etc.) can be worn on top of one another, playing with all the possible combinations to give you the abi
Villa Bel-Ami
Like I said before, a much more intimate and vintage-styled collection. When I saw the first photos I was extremely impressed, and taking a closer look at some of these pieces I am just in love with them. The items have kept the girdling properties which made them such a hit while at the same time releasing the body from its constraints thanks to flexible and stretch materials such as mesh or voile fabric. The mousseline suspender belt body suit makes the structure of the garment visible while highlighting the curves of the body. The classically inspired pieces are redesigned to create outfits which are original and yet seem so familiar. An example is the jaw-dropping traditional "waspie" to which a G-string is attached (Absolutely gorgeous – judge for yourself!Saturday, January 15, 2011
Mexico and Luxury Lingerie....weird combination you say? Not really......
Open a newspaper or surf the web and no doubt you will come upon articles written about our neighbor to the south. Most undoubtedly, these articles will either be about the narco wars terrorizing the country or the countless of immigrants trying to sneak into this country. Ask around about what people here in the USA think about Mexicans, you will hear words like humble..hard working...great farmers.. lazy..illegal aliens..narcos...etc. Yes there are countless good people here in the states that respect and appreciate what mexicans have brought to this country. But unless they have spent considerable time in Mexico on both sides of the coin...most of them have no idea the quality of sophistication and class that exists in many parts of Mexico. Yes, the majority of Mexicans belong to the lower working class but their exists a small percentage of people in Mexico that control nearly 90% of all the wealth in that country. This wealth is not readily visable until you are able to spend considerable time in mainly three cities: Guadalajara, Monterey and of course, Mexico City. Accorind to FOrbes magazine, one of the richest men in the world lives their.
I was born in the U.S. to a "gringo" dad and a beautiful but feisty Mexican mother. At a young age of 6, we moved to Mexico. We grew up on the humble side of that coin. My dad did well for himself but my mother always kept us grounded. My mother had family from two diferent economic back grounds. On one side were the Sonorenses; blue collar hard workers that all worked for the railroad or "ferrocarril" located in the state of Sonora that runs along the US border. They worked hard, saved their money and focused on having a family and buying their own home. There wasnt ever much money to go around but life was good because they had good stable jobs and always party to look forward to on the weekend. The other d=side of my family lived in Guadalajara, Mexico. The second biggest city in Mexico. These urbanites went to college and became professors, lawyers, doctors and politicans. Considering the low cost of living in Mexico, someone making $50,000 their lives like someone making $300,000 in the States. In Mexico, you either have the rich or you have the poor. The middle class is virtuyally non existant. Drug money may be changing that for alot of people now but its not legitimate and it doesnt last.
So by the time I started college in the states, I decided to "study abroad" and ended up attending La Universidad Autonomo de Guadalajara, Mexico for a year. It ended up being one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Up to that point, most of my time in Mexico had been spent in small towns in Mexico. The big city took my breath away. I ended up staying with a cousin of my mothers who was considered wealthy at that time. He had this huge beautiful house in a nice part of the city called Bouganvilias. I never knew there was this much money there. Life was so different than the small town. Night clubs, cars, money, bars, galas, balls and quincenieras. For a young guy in college it was heavan.
During my year there, I completely fell in love with that city. The French and Italian architecture, the cathedrals, the art, the food and of course, the people. Driving around the city, I would think to myself that this is what Paris must be like. I went back as often as I could until one day I had a layover in Mexico City and decided to explore the city. It completely blew me away. It was like Guadalajara only bigger and much more sophisticated. Chic boutiques lined the streets, fine eateries and bars were everywhere. Eventhough Mexico borders the US, there is a much more European flavor in Mexico City. I am certain that the majority of the wealthy in Mexico would rather have ties to Europe than to the US. This is clearly reflected in the architecture of the city and of course, the fashion. Go to the major Luxe malls in Mexico City and you will see more European brands than anything else. This is why I decided to start a import company focusing on the luxury lingerie market. Upon deciding on which brands to bring into Mexico, I stayed away from the major manufacturers like La Perla, Agent Provocateur and Victoria Secrets simply because they were already visible and because I wanted something new and fresh. I wanted to introduce brands that were unheard of outside of Europe. Ive always been interested in fashion and beautiful things. Lingerie was something that naturally fell into place for me. Beautiful women dressed up in sexy clothes.....is there a better combination anywhere?
I scoured the world for beautiful lingerie collections that were relatively unknown in Mexico. I wanted to offer something chic and elegant that made people step back and say wow. If a woman wants to feel sexy and provocative, what better way than a perfectly fitted corset or bustier set with stockings and garters. I looked for brands that were extremley well made using only the best lace, chiffon and silk. Collections that were sexy, elegant and naughty. I think Ive found them.
My collections offer something for everyone: affordable elegance for the economically challenged, my gold and platinum collections which are extremely well made but smartly priced, and finally, my ultry luxurious black label collection. Beautiful pieces, many of them completely hand made in France and Italy made with the finest lace, silk and chiffon money can buy. This collection is desinged to compete with the finest lingerie in the world. I think you will find that it does that and a whole lot more. Contact me if you would like to see more.....
